Last weekend Crafty Fibres were exhibiting as part of Spindependence – Collective with Cambridge Open Studios. The first weekend was a vibrant show from four textile artists. We had a very busy time with lots of visitors.
We are open again this weekend (8th & 9th July) from 11am – 6pm both days. We are at Harlton Village Hall, Coach Drive, Harlton, CB23 1EN.
We had a very successful launch of our dyeing kits at Textiles East.
It was a great experience and we will be doing it again. We are restocking and the dyeing kits will be selling online in our Etsy shop shortly.
We are at Textiles East this weekend at Swavesey Village College in Cambridgeshire. We’re selling dyeing kits using concentrated food colour (which is great for dyeing wool in the kitchen using just the equipment you already have and distilled white vinegar). Find us next to FibreTastic’s stand in the retail hall.
We had a lovely time at Cambridge Open Studios at Harlton. We had lots of visitors and lots of great discussions about the creation of the garments and the photography on display.
Here’s a look at the Crafty Fibres stand from the first day:
While we were open I was able to do some spinning. I ended up spinning a Navajo-plied yarn with an additional thread carrying beads (It was rather a complicated spin to be doing in public!)
We are pleased to announce that Crafty Fibres will be taking part in Cambridge Open Studios this year. We’ll be opening as a working studio at Harlton Village Hall for the first two weekends in July. More details can be found from Hazel’s profile on the Open Studio’s website.
